Murchison Project

Studies

The MTMP is one of the most advanced undeveloped vanadium projects in the world. Several studies have been completed including a Definitive Feasibility Study on Gabanintha in 2019. Currently an Integration Study will incorporate the higher-grade Yarrabubba deposit which is expected to improve the economics even further.

Integration Study

The MTMP Integration Study will incorporate the satellite deposit Yarrabubba into the mine schedule. The Integration study has the potential to materially increase the mine life of the MTMP and lower operating costs, reduce the payback period and lower the overall development risk.

MTMP Integration Study on track for delivery in mid 2022.

The MTMP will be the largest primary producer of vanadium in the world.

Environmental Review Document (ERD)

A range of environmental field surveys and studies have been completed between 2017 and 2021 to address the key environmental factors in relation to the development of the project. This data has been collated and compiled into the Environmental Review Document (ERD) which was  submitted in February 2022.

A key milestone for the project is environmental approval, anticipated in the second half 2022.

Gabanintha Definitive Feasibility Study

Technology Metals delivered the findings of its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) in August 2019.

The DFS shows the Gabanintha project is one of the most attractive undeveloped vanadium projects globally. Key findings of the study demonstrated that Gabanintha is a large, long-life project that will command lowest quartile costs of operation.

A Mining Reserve of 29.6Mt @ 0.88% V2O5 and targeted average production rate of 27.9 Mlb per annum V2O5will make TMT the largest primary vanadium producer in the world.

Since completion of the DFS the mining leases have been granted, mineral resources / mining reserves have increased and the ERD submitted.

Pilot Plant Study with FLSmidth

As part of the comprehensive DFS testwork conducted by leading kiln expert FLSmidth in the USA confirmed the operating parameters and scalability of the processing method. This work represents some of the most successful and comprehensive testwork completed on an undeveloped vanadium project.

The 9.8m long rotary kiln utilised in the testwork at FLSmidth’ Bethlehem (USA) testing facility.
The pilot involved a continuous feed of the magnetic concentrate / salt mix enabling measurement of key factors such as vanadium solubility / recovery and estimated residence times.
